This program uses ballet and movement arts to support the healing and rehabilitation of incarcerated and at-risk youth, including those affected by trafficking, gang involvement, and sexual exploitation. We provide trauma-informed, therapeutic dance instruction in juvenile detention facilities to foster resilience, emotional regulation, and personal growth.
We are seeking emotionally intelligent and trauma-informed instructors to deliver structured ballet classes in secure juvenile correctional settings. The ideal candidate is compassionate, adaptable, and committed to using movement as a healing tool for youth navigating complex trauma.
Facilitate trauma-informed ballet classes for incarcerated youth
Maintain fidelity to a structured curriculum while adapting to unpredictable facility conditions
Establish rapport with diverse student populations through culturally responsive practices
Prioritize emotional and physical safety during each class
Follow safety protocols and comply with all mandated reporting requirements
Complete and maintain detailed session and progress documentation
Participate in certification and ongoing professional development training
Experience: Minimum of 2 years working with children or adolescents in a teaching, counseling, or coaching capacity
Movement Background: Intermediate to advanced experience in ballet or dance/movement arts
