About the Role

A multi-level role with responsibilities for developing and validating processes designed to mitigate obsolescence issues on legacy platforms. This is a staff position that involves informing and advising leadership of paths towards problem resolutions including a step plan of tasks required to do so. This role entails operating high-tech as well as general test equipment in an advanced electronics lab setting. Conducting quality assurance and design performance testing using sophisticated equipment and procedures. Analyzing circuitry and component performance compared to design requirements. Validating component test parameters to create tailored quality inspection processes. Document and report final test results. Utilizing analog signature analysis equipment and techniques to detect and isolate component faults on multilayer circuit boards beyond power-on functional testing. Troubleshoot / repair electronic and electro-optic devices of all types including printed circuit boards. Conduct formal and informal training as needed. Interface directly with the customer as well as participate in technical discussions with management.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role

  • Perform test analysis and repair on analog or digital electronic boxes to the printed circuit board level using automated, semi-automated and specialized equipment to mitigate obsolescence issue.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic boxes and circuit boards from multiple vehicle platforms
  • Fault isolate discrete malfunctions in complex circuits and report findings on a weekly basis.
  • Evaluate test data, identify performance fault trends and initiate corrective actions as warranted
  • Maintain, manage, organize and utilize electronics lab equipment, materials and special tools
  • Input fault descriptions and repair activities into a shared database to aid in trend analysis
  • Provide training and guidance to a small team of electronic technicians in a lab setting.
  • Develop troubleshooting procedures and quality inspection processes to be used in a lab environment
  • Interface with CONUS configuration management personnel and Engineering staff on a regular basis

Qualifications Sought

  • 10+ years of related experience required
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must have outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Must have the ability to work within a team and independently with little supervision
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and maintain an organized database
  • Must have an understanding of data analysis, analytics, engineering concepts, practices and procedures
  • Must be able to detect, analyze and repair discrete faults in sensitive electronic components
  • Must be familiar with electronic test equipment and associated software interfaces
  • Must be familiar with the use and operation of various types of test and measurement equipment to include oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, power supplies, logic analyzers, bus analyzers etc.
  • Must be familiar with signature analysis equipment and the use of micro-mini soldering devices
  • Must understand / interpret electronic schematics to accomplish fault isolation and repair tasks
  • Ability to solve complex electronic problems utilizing engineering knowledge and resources
  • Must; be a US person, have a valid US Passport, pass a background investigation to obtain a work visa
  • Must have prior work experience in the MENA region
