Job Description

Landscape Designer Location Austin, TX (Windsor Park area) :

Strata Landscape, LLC specializes in building large scale commercial and residential projects throughout Central Texas. We offer our clients a broad portfolio of in house installation services including landscape, irrigation, metal fabrication, masonry, rough grading and site preparation. We also have design professionals on staff to provide new installation drawings and assist with in house shop drawings. Our vertically integrated approach to installation and design provides a quality control and customer service level unique within the industry.

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Landscape Designer with expertise in accurate residential landscape design, construction estimating, CAD drafting, Adobe Creative Suite, basic rendering, as well as a deadline driven approach to project management.

This is a long-term opportunity with significant growth opportunities.

:

  • manage multiple aspects of the residential design and installation process
  • assist estimators with generating bids using in-house excel bid templates
  • meet with new or perspective residential and commercial clients
  • plan and design residential and small commercial projects
  • prepare separate detailed site plans, lighting plans, hardscape plans, planting plans (master plan for site as/if necessary)
  • compile and analyze data on conditions such as location, drainage, and location of structures for design and development
  • prepare detailed scaled drawings from rough sketches or other data provided / generated
  • solid sketching and rendering skills (typically final products produced in CAD but hand drawing is an important part of the design process)
  • prepare graphic representations or drawings of proposed plans or designs utilizing CAD or other drafting program. .
  • prepare presentation quality illustrations as and when necessary
  • ensure project compliance with applicable codes
  • represent the team in a professional, courteous manner with residential clients, subcontractors, vendors and suppliers
  • once the design and estimating phase is complete assist with managing crew leaders during the installation process
  • review job installation progress, assist with scheduling and ongoing project construction
  • oversee project close-out including: as-built drawings, warranty and operations manuals

Job Requirements:

  • degree or certificate in landscape architecture, landscape design or equivalent experience
  • 5 years minimum experience in design and project management role within a landscape organization (experience in the residential market is preferred)
  • proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe CS, InDesign, PhotoShop, SketchUp and other software as necessary
  • strong drafting abilities, proficiency in CAD or equal drafting software preferred
  • ability to complete accurate designs and takeoff using preferred software platform
  • knowledge of landscape installation practices and methods
  • valid Texas driver's license

Compensation:

  • full-time position
  • vehicle stipend or company truck
  • phone stipend or phone provided
  • competitive salary - DOE ($60,000 to $65,000)

Education:

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree (preferred by not required)
