Join us. **Job Description** AECOM is seeking a motivated **Traffic Engineer** with at least two years of professional experience to join our Transportation team in a **hybrid role** based in **Los Angeles or Orange, CA** . This is an excellent opportunity for a junior or mid-level traffic engineer ready to contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects and develop their technical and professional expertise. **Job Responsibilities** As a key team member, your responsibilities will include: + Assisting in the preparation of **traffic impact studies** , **traffic signal designs** , **signing and striping plans** , and **road safety audits** under the supervision of senior engineers. + Performing **data collection and field investigations** to support project development and analysis. + Contributing to **traffic analysis and modeling** using tools such as Synchro, VISSIM, and SIDRA. + Collaborating with project teams, including planners, civil designers, and project managers, to deliver technical solutions. + Supporting the preparation of **technical reports, drawings, and presentations** for clients and stakeholders. + Ensuring project work complies with **local, state (e.g., Caltrans, LADOT), and federal traffic engineering standards** . + Participating in internal reviews, quality checks, and continuous improvement processes. + Developing your understanding of **regulatory processes, safety principles, and construction phase services** . **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field. + Minimum of **2 years of experience** in traffic engineering, transportation planning, or roadway design or equivalent of education and experience. + EIT certification or ability to obtain it within 6 months. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience working with **Caltrans** and/or **LADOT** standards and procedures. + Exposure to **traffic signal design, signing and striping plans** , and **temporary traffic control** . + Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and traffic simulation software (e.g., Synchro, HCS). + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Detail-oriented with the ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously. + A desire to **learn from experienced engineers** and grow into a lead or management role. **Additional Information** + **No sponsorship** is available for this position. + This role offers a **hybrid work model** , with flexibility between in-office collaboration and remote work. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
