**El Dorado Disposal** , a Waste Connections company, has an immediate position available for a Welder/Fabricator in **Placerville, CA.** In this position you will do many things, but your main duties will include welding, fabricating trucks and container repair. This is a full-time, long-term position with a great company. If you don't mind getting your hands dirty and are a self-motivated, hardworking individual with good communication skills, we want to talk to you. **Starting Pay is $35.00 per hour depending on experience.** **Schedule is a Monday to Friday from 9am to 5:30pm.** **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** + We perform welding and repair of trash/compactor containers, compactor repairs and trash trucks metal repair in our fleet. + Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards. + Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. + Use plasma cutter, stick and wire feed welders as well as torch, air, and electrical tools to either cut out, grind buff and/or replace damaged areas. + Work with the lead/manager to maintain inventory of steel used for body repairs. + Develop work schedule to limit downtime of equipment and prioritize repairs. + Replace defective bolts and make minor repairs to containers. Repair rails, doors, patch holes etc. + Drive a forklift as needed. + Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks and work as a team. **WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:** + Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required objects over 50 pounds. + Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair containers in the yard. Usually, well-lit and ventilated. Sometimes it is necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools.
